I Won My First Challenge :)

I'm so excited! I have been doing challenges off and on for almost a year and a half now. This past week Cas-ual Fridays had a challenge. Here is the card I entered.

I found out last night (10pm Cali time) that I was chosen to be one of their V.I.P's :)
super excited now :) What a great honor.

Personal Shout Out:  Danielle Walls. I first saw Danielle over at Hero Art's Flickr page. Her work was just stunning and I had to see more! I went to her blog Neat & Tangled and saw a blinkie on her blog for Cas-Ual Fridays. I roamed around her blog a little more and then subscribed to both blogs the same day :) :) I can proudly say I'm a huge fan of Neat and Tangled. So long story short..... Because of Danielle I would not know about Cas-ual Fridays. Thank you Danielle and keep up the amazing inspiring work :)

Hershey Nugget & Gift Card Holder

OK..... this is going to be a short post. I have 32 Christmas cards that I need to get started on and a house that is in need of a cleaning (can't pick which one to do first..hahaha)

Here are the 6 Hershey nugget/gift card holders I made for my sister :)

They are for teenagers. Each one holds 10 nuggets (not included) and come with matching belly bands for the nuggets.

The inside of the card part holds the gift card.
I scored and added adhesive to each belly band ready for her to use. Was not about to send chocolate through the mail and have it melt all over the cards. Each card coordinates to the front. I used Bazzill coconut white cardstock, Recollection's (Michael's brand) Jolly Bright paper pack.

This holiday season I have a ton of crafts to do so stay tuned for more holiday crafts. Till next time :)

This Past Week

Afternoon everyone. Hope everyone is home safe and dry. It's pouring here in Cali. I've been super sick this past week and was unable to upload these cards that I did the prier week. Now that I'm feeling better I thought what a great day this would be to play on the computer (while the Husband plays MW3).  Some of the photos I'm uploading onto this post you will see in further detail under CFC Challenge #29.

Baby Shower Card

So my best friend is going to a baby shower on Nov 4th. She asked me to create a card for her to give to the mom-to-be. She sent me this photo for some inspiration.....

It's Pottery Barn's Penelope Nursery Set.
So I took this and ran with it. I am so happy with what I came up with. :)

Now this was the first time I used digital stamps. Not bad! WAY cheaper than stamps :) :) :)
Here is a list of the product I used.....

  • Recollections card stock
  • cross stitching thread (pink & green left over from a cross stitch I did many years ago)
  • Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Worn Lipstick & Peeled Paint
  • Hero Arts Cling Stamp: CL141
  • Hero Arts Digital Stamp: Birds On A Wire (bought this from TwoPeasInABucket.com)
  • Glossy Accents
  • Tombo Mono Multi Glue
  • PrismaColor Markers
  • Pentel Sunburst Medium Gel Pen White (My new favorite white gel pen)
I hope the mom-to-be loves it. I made it so that the mom-to-be can frame the card and have it displayed in the nursery. A card and gift all in one :) Love It!!!

Thank you for looking :)

Look what I got :)

So since its the begnining of the month Hero Arts has new challenges for the month of March! This month is Birthday Cards, Stamped Envelopes and Stamped Layered Technique. So I thought.....
New month, new challenge, new stamp???? Why not :) So I headed to Michael's (closest scrapbooking supply store i have :p) and bought this....

and here are some cards I have done in the past two days with this stamp set :) enjoy :)

This card is 3 3/4"by 5 1/4" finished. I used DCWV designer paper that I got from JoAnn's (on sale). All cardstock used is from Michael's (Recollection). Stamps from Hero Arts (CL139).

Starting with a brown base I inked the whole card with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I then added the designer paper. The white border was created with white cardstock trimmed with scalloped scissors and inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink. The sentiment was created with scrap white, pink and orange cardstock. I first stamped the "it's your birthday stamp" onto pink cardstock and cut it out. Then, added pop dots to the back. The orange circle was punched out with a 1 1/2" circle punch and the dots were created with a white gel pen. I then added the sentiment to a solid white cardstock scrap and cut it out with the same scallop scissors. The cake stamp is from the same collection and colored in with Crayola markers.

This card was inspired by a print I saw on a bed set at my work. The poppies were made from red cardstock with Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Ink applied all over, and for the center I just used a black marker and added Glossy Ascents to them.
There is more to come so please come back and see more :)

P.S. January 31st was national Levi day... in honor I made this birthday card. That's right.... that lollipop flower and leaves are made from an old pair of my jeans. For the coloring I used... of course... Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE these inks :) The "birthday wishes" is a stamp from Hero Arts.

Happy Birthday Gramma :)

So my Grandmother's birthday is later this week and I made her a card.  My gramma is one of the greatest woman I know. I really hope she enjoys this card! Here it is...

I started out with a precut card from Michael's. I inked that with Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Antique Linen". Then, I cut out white card stock and inked it with ColorBox rose chalk ink and Michael's Brand of hot pink ink (it was in the $1 bin). Then, inked my Hampton Art Background stamp (#SC0163) with Tim Holtz "Antique Linen" and stamped the background on the pink. Then I trimmed the pink with brown "Sable" cardstock from The Paper Company.

Now the Embellishments :)
1. The flourish stamp is from Rusty Pickle. I inked the stamp with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink "Walnut Stain"( I really love this ink if you couldn't tell) and then stamped onto the pink. I used the same ink to soften the edges around the pink.
2. The roses. They are a stamp from a very old stamp set I got when I first started stamping and scrapbooking. The company name is "Combined Resources International". First, I stamped it with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. Second, I colored it in with Prismacolor Markers.
3. I cut out the top leaves and tossed them. I also cut the bottom ones off put kept them. I added pop-ups to the rose and snail glued the leaves directly to the card.
4. "Happy Birthday" sentiment, was a stamp from Stampendous (also a really old stamp, think I might be dating myself with these stamps) inked with "Walnut Stain". I then added "Antique Linen" to the background and punched it out with my 1 1/2" circle punch. I then used double sided adhesive to attach it to more brown paper and cut it out with my scallop scissors.

I hope she enjoys it!

~Keep scrapping :)

P.S. I missed numbered some of my challenges from the "layout Inspiration: 99 Challenges" I have re-numbered them and we should be good from here on out. :)

Husband's Birthday Card

So I have had this card done for awhile but I do not upload any cards until the receiver has received the card :)

I did the background and "Happy Birthday" the rest of the embellishments were Michael's Recollections Dimensional Stickers. I have not done a card based on the embellishment (stickers in this case) in a long time.

I will post the directions to the background later.

Enjoy :)
